Guest Speaker Dr Geoff Brighty – Area Manager-Environmental Agency…….
Dr Geoff Brighty has kindly agreed to address this meeting as a follow up to his much applauded presentation last May. Geoff will hopefully be able to explain what the EA propose to do to provide a long-term solution to the ’smell’ we encountered at the weir in the summer of 2008. The EWCA, its Councillors’ & St Edmundsbury BC Officers have met with the EA since last May, when this action for the AGM was agreed. I think it is fair to say the subject is proving more complex than originally envisaged! You will also note a ‘river pollution’ leaflet along with the EWCAFlyer which we would like to bring to your attention. If you have question or quires on this issue Dr Brighty will do histmost to answer these on the night.
