Taking a title from a well-known poem and piece of music, this talk will show how many new initiatives are helping to move the Lark, its meadows and riverbanks upwards from the “poor” rating it has had amongst all East Anglian rivers. Alongside the work of the Bury Water Meadows Group, where 40 volunteers have helped out on the river in Bury in recent months, a new community-based “Partnership” for the whole Lark has been established and is now swinging into action.
